Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda, Florida
A Short Walk From Fisherman’s Village Is Gilchrist Park This
Park Has Always Provided A Warm Welcome To All Generations. Totally Redone A Few
Of Years Ago… This Park Has So Much To Offer From The Nice Huge Sidewalk For
Brisk Walks Through The Park , Bike Riding, Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Open
Area For A Friendly Game Of Football, A Pier For Salt Water Fishing, Children’s
Playground And A Beautiful Gazebo For Pictures Or A Gorgeous Waterfront
Wedding.
I Can Remember Going To This Very Park As A Child As We
Would Play My Mother Would Sit By The Water’s Edge And Relax, As We Would Climb
The Huge Oak Tree In The Middle Of The Playground. This Tree Makes A Great Place
To Take Beautiful Pictures.

Fisherman's Village
Fisherman's Village
Fishermen's Village In Punta Gorda Is A Unique And Quaint
Harbor Side Shopping Mall. This Village Is Built On
The Site Of The Former Community Pier. A Series Of Old Wooden Buildings House
Several Dozen Boutiques And Gift Stores, As Well As Six Restaurants Which Make
Available Dining With Harbor Side Views. Neighboring Fisherman’s Village Is A
97 Slip Marina, Where Cruises And Fishing Charters Are Available. Fishermen's
Village Is Not Only A Traveler’s Destination, But The "Center Court"
Hosts’ Entertainment And Many Other Events.
I Have Always Even As A Child, Enjoyed Walking Through The
Center Court Area Enjoying Local Entertainment And Visiting The Shops, While
Indulging In A Snack Or Two… And Watching The Spectacular Evening Sunsets On
The Pier.

Ponce De Leon Park
This Beautiful Sight Is Taken At Ponce De Leon Park Over The
Gulf Waters Where People Gather Nightly To Watch The Sunset. This Area Is Almost
As Though You Are Stepping Back In Time.
There Is A Nature Walk Where You Can See Many Species Of Birds Among
Other Wild Life. They Even Have A Preserve Where They Rescue Wild Animals And
Nurse Them Back To Health. There Is A
Public Boat Ramp With Easy Access In And Out Of The Water And A Pier That
Almost Always Has A Couple Of Local Fishermen. This Park Has Large Pavilions
Were You Can Have A Nice Size Gathering.
There Is A Small Beach Area To Enjoy The Beautiful Water And The Sunsets
Are Incredibly Dreamlike.

This I have to say is one of my most favorite Beaches to go.
Stump pass is an amazing place with the clear calm water on one side of the
pass and the beautiful gulf beach on the other. The best part… the farther you
walk down the more isolated it gets.

Punta Gorda
I have lived almost all over the state of Florida. From one
end to the other and I can honestly say that I love southwest Florida. The people
are completely real, friendly and one of a kind. I live in a quaint little town
called Punta Gorda it means Fat Point in Spanish. This is where Ponce De Leon settled
in 1521. Rich in culture and history this truly is an amazing place. My husband’s
family has lived here since 1800’s and we were fortunate to purchase some of the
same property that his great Grandfather settled on in Charlotte Harbors Peace
River. Punta Gorda has continuously
been chosen as one of the best places to live and I would love to show you why…
